Vermont Institute of Natural Science

Vermont Institute of Natural Science

We are planning a visit to the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) Nature Center in Quechee, Vermont. An environmental education center featuring nature trails, interactive exhibits, and live raptor programs. Participants will have the opportunities to observe birds of prey, learn about local wildlife and conservation, and explore the outdoor learning spaces.

The trip will also include a 45-minute lesson on VINS's Forest Canopy Walk. This accessible elevated walk brings visitors into the treetops and includes interpretive stations about forest layers, wildlife, sustainable forestry, and maple sugaring. The walk also features hands-on elements such as the Spider's Web, Eagle's Nest, Owl's Nest, and Treehouse platforms.

After our lesson we are free to explore the museum as we wish. There is no dedicated lunch time, participants may eat when hungry. We will have a dedicated spot inside the museum for lunches and regrouping.

There is free parking in parking lot.
