Class Description: Friends in the Making: Crafting a Custom Robotic Sidekick in 8 Weeks

Without a doubt, the influence of robots on our future is undeniable. Have you ever wondered what it takes to make a robot? In the last couple of years, I’ve had the joy of working with mentors on a FIRST Robotics team and a hand in their journey to bring not just one, but two robots, DUP - Dancing Under Pressure and Cubert to various competitions.  We will cover:

• What is FIRST Robotics

• Computer Aided Design (CAD)

• 3D Printing

• Material Fabrication

• Software Programming

• Electrical Wiring

• Testing and Refining

• Driving and Operating a Robot

• Creative Marketing

• How YOU can participate

No previous experience is needed!

We won’t wrap up the class with a completed robot, but if you’re finding the experience enjoyable and wish to continue with a full build season, we’ll be wrapping up just in time for the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition!
