2019 Planetarium Trip

2019 Planetarium Trip

Fun for all ages. Grades K-6 will enjoy the planetarium show Family of the Sun, then have lots of time to explore the museum.

FAmily of the Sun Experience the solar system as you never have before, from the Sun to the distant edge of the Oort cloud. Travel to planets, moons, comets and trans-Neptunian objects. Enjoy an aurora on Saturn, see the relative positions of planets in their orbits around our star, understand eclipses and more in the engaging live presentation.

Grades 7-12 will start with the Discovery Experience Stellar Forensics before exploring the museum exhibits.

Stellar Forensics Learn about one of the most important astronomical tools: the H-R (Hertzsprung-Russel) Diagram, which plots stars showing the relationship between a star's brightness versus its surface temperatures, denoted by color.  An introductory spectroscopy lab is included.

The cost is $7 per person, ages 3 and up; ages 2 and under are free.

I will need a few moms willing to be chaperones. Each Chaperone must be able  to play an active role in supervising the students, not just your own children. Just indicate, for now, if you are able and willing to fill this role.

If you have a small child that will not be participating in the programs, I recommend checking in with your library to see if you can get a free or reduced rate to explore the museum. If you plan to use a pass, DO NOT register here. Only register children/adults participating in the programs.
